They were walking up the stairs and out of nowhere a metal ball jumped on one of them and was burning his face. Thomas ran to help him and took of the metal ball of his head. they went into the burning sun above and began to walk to a city until night and walked to 2 people and they warned them about the town. they kept on walking until night and at night they took a rest. At night they heard a girl screaming.

for the pst few days they were trapped in a dorm with no food but just water.In the break of dying they found 2 pile of food in the middle of the other room with aman called rat man sitting reading a book. he told them why they where there and why they were doing this. they had until 6am to ge ready for the next test

Thomas and the other boys broke through a locked door and found died bodies hanging from the ceiling and saw that it was the bodies of the people that brought them there. they saw another door that had the girl that Thomas was looking for and they broke through that door and found out that she wasn't there but a boy named Aris was there and he came from a maze just like them.
