Jimmy does not sit alone any longer in his 3rd form bench of the Bovenmeer basic school in De Kempen, a region West of Antwerp. Tristan, a refugee boy from Kosovo was placed next to him. Jimmy has been asked to help him along getting integrated. Tristan's family had a ardous way - mainly on foot - up to Belgium, lost one child in the Adriatic sea, and Tristan no longer can hear with one ear.

After a terrible night filled with the fear of imminent deportation the children set up to put their plan in action. They want to stage an accident, in which Tristan and Jetmira rescue Jimmy from drowing. As a reward, they hope, the family will receive the right to stay in Belgium. Will it work?

Asylum for the Ibrahimi family was rejected and they have to leave Belgium. Tristan and his sister Jetmira have a plan. They need Jimmy’s help, but first has to proof that he is tough enough by mimicking the ordeals that the Ibrahimis had to stand, swimming in ice cold water and eating snails.

Jimmy sets off with a well structured integration program for Tristan at school and after lessons. During a trip to the sea he experiences Tristan’s trauma of open water. But Jimmy has his sorrows too. His father left the family and did not contact him for weeks. In the bank ground threatens the eviction of the Ibrahimi family.
