Dude. The sinking feeling I got… Multiple times up to this point… Whew.

Wow. This hit and hurt so much to read. I used to get relaxers when I was younger, not because I didn’t like my hair but because it was manageable that way. It took me a while to accept how my hair looked without it because everyone seemed so shocked and unprepared by my natural coils and kinks.

This is a lot. I’m more invested in Chi’s story, but maybe that’s because we have more to relate on even though I’m not too much like her. I just think she radiates solo protagonist energy. I’m so invested in all of the characters in her story and Devon’s not so much. Maybe that’ll change though because I’ve got quite a bit to go.

I’ve barely even made it a couple pastes until the book and already, the parallels between Niveus and Hutch are hard to miss. This is cool.
