Perrin has put down the axe, guess that means it's hammer time... :)

Ok, here's another reason this is the worst book in the series; spending so much time with the Egwene and her petty crew of Aes Sedai dithering while the world burns. Also, it drives me nuts how pretty much all the characters only bring up Rand to blame him for their problems, yet while their stories are going in circles, he's fixing a millennia old problem no one thought anyone could fix.

woohoo! we've finally moved events to the next day (the first half of the book pretty much all takes place on the day that Rand & Nynaeve are at Shador Logoth messing with the Source, which certainly reinforces my previous theory about this book's origins)

Given how much of this book happens concurrently with the end of Winter's Heart, I do wonder whether this book began as a collection of chapters that Jordan had to cut from Winter's Heart and then stretched out to book length; this would explain much.

Mat can't get help from anybody, Perrin is mopey, and Aram is NUTS, yup, easy to remember why this is the worst book in the series.
