It's like every two pages we need to hear two sentences of backstory for every side character. I get that it's going for a found family vibe but it's so forced

I'm sorry but I've truly never read a book that felt more like an advertisement for future books about side characters than this one. I've read multiple pages about the backstories/appearances/hopes and dreams/strengths of SEVERAL characters and I could not give a shit about them nor the MCs. MAKE ME LIKE THIS BOOK BEFORE TRYING TO SELL ME THE REST OF YOUR CRAP OR I STG I WILL DNF

Damn this book gives backstory tangents like I did in middle school, just HAVE THE BOOK HAPPEN
