In this book I think that the character is brave. He wrote about missions that he had to do, and things that went wrong during them. Even after this he did not give up. He kept doing his job, part in the mission. He (his name was never mentioned) gets mad that the Black Hawk (a type of helicopter) is going down, not scared that they would die.
