Okay, getting somewhere now. I have been ignoring the ages of the characters in this book, imagining they’re in their 20s cos I just can’t vibe with 17-18 year olds especially in this context😭🤣

I’ve read Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas and I find her writing style to be frustrating at times. It’s definitely a slow burner, like I just want her to get to the good stuff already. The teenager/ high school era this is set in also throws me off but that’s personal preference.

Literally starting this just to see if I can finish it in a day because im sick right now and I don’t wanna finish my other book cos it ends on a cliff hanger🥹
