Matthew has shown incredible growth throughout the book, and these pages reflect another moment in his life where he feels that growth has slowed. So he does what he can to change that. These pages end off with him meeting the one girl he believes to be destined to marry. This is even shown by his mom's voice whispering to him, "This is not the type of woman you wave over from across a bar, son" (McConaughey 226).

These pages show more development from McConaughey's career. He is making huge paychecks with romantic comedies. However, he's not "Livin". So he decides to search for work where he dreams of. His acting career is on pause but he's saved enough money to make ends meet. He learns in these pages "That it's not all for nothing, it's all for everything" (McConaughey 244).

These pages begin to shift the tone from an inspirational kind of story to the beginning of a slice of his life. He starts his family with Camilla and upon calling his mom, they receive a shocking response, quickly followed by his mom apologizing and saying "Great, cus everybody deserves a do-over!" (McConaughey 235). This shows character growth in his mom by acknowledging Matthew's life as his own to choose.

These pages showed more of Matt's relationship with his former opponent Michel and Pat, his brother. It also deepens the understanding of his consistent rom-com movie hit career. "I became the shirtless, on the beach rom-com guy." (McConaughey 214) This shows how he's been impacted by his career.

Matthew used his experience in Niafunke and Bandiagara to tell about some greenlights to help live life better. In one story he was eating with Amadou and Ali, they began to partake in what seemed like an argument, it however was not. When Matthew tried to agree with Ali, he was met with Ali's reply of "It is not about right or wrong. It is 'Do you understand?'" (McConaughey 198). Wow. It was super powerful.

In these pages Matt takes up his next acting job. He decides to shave his head which, at first scares his director and he gets threatened with "Bad Karma" but later on he decides it fits. Matt goes and starts his dragon slayer workout regime and set the bar too high for himself. However at the end of filming, he shows that the best way to do it, is to "know your man". To be the character you're playing.

In these pages Matt was arrested for smoking marijuana, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest. However in the newspaper his home address was leaked, so at the end of these pages after he got out of prison he decided to give his neighbors some "goodbyes, rather than see you laters"

In these pages Matthew found himself a campsite between cities at night. He was looking to set up his satellite dish but ended spending the night in a bar with strangers getting drunk. One guy asked if he was Matthew McConaughey and Matt just said "For twenty nine years, why?". This let him announce to the room that he wasn't there for their entertainment but simply to live his life.

In these pages Matthew bought a van and a mobile home and describes his constant want to move and travel. He meets a trailer park called the Squampish Nation, when Matthew decides to leave the park, Chief Hunt gives him a parting gift while saying, "The paddle is what gives the Squamish Nation its direction on the water,". After this, Matthew named his trailer "the canoe" in order to show it's importance to him.

Matthew showed great character development and self awareness in these pages. He showed a greater understanding of his life than any other chapter in this book. He wanted to be Matthew again, not Matthew McConaughey the famous movie star. So he journeyed to where he believed he thought he could.

These pages described Matthew's sudden fame and his reaction to it. It gave a different perspective to celebrities that you don't usually get to see by just watching. It was interesting how he described the impact that his sudden fame from "A time to kill" had on his spiritual life. He traveled 13 and a half miles to a monastery to re-evaluate his spiritual life.
