Ugh my heart can’t handle these tender moments.

Story never seems to slow down with intensity; page after page.

It’s mind blowing how realistic this story is as it carries on. Knowing life was really like this many years ago. Loving the details, the quotes; for they all bring that reality and true presence at that moment in time.

Believable, heart pounding at times where how can one not be pulled into these two different woman wanting what is right and for what they believe in.

“…her romantic novels made sense; she realized that the landscape of a woman’s soul could change quickly as the world at war.”

Loving these characters mostly Isabelle, she can be naive at moments but speaks the strong truth in believing things have to be set right.

Already loving this book as I have found my own sled traveling back in time seeing Vianne and Isabelle begin their experiences in WW2. Such a great read so far.
