Rashid talks about the impact that horses have on him when he isn't feeling the best. He can walk into a pin with horses and instantly feel relieved. Though he might be tired when he goes near the horses they make him feel relieved of that, but in reality, the feeling is still there.

The author is telling us that if you are looking for softness within your mind, it will never come out the correct way. The truth is that you have to dig deep down into your heart and find the softness that you will always need. Once you have found your true softness you will struggle to loose it again.l

The author explained what it was like in the different clinics that he did. How it was hard for a simple task and an easy task to get mixed up. The more time you spend working on knowing these things the better you will be with more expirence.

The author is working on the slight movements that he and the horse make to get to where they need to be. When balancing the teeter-totter they make some of the slightest movement within their bodies that it is hard to even tell that it had happened. In the end, together, both of them balance it perfectly in the middle.

The narrator goes to clinics to help people and their horses with their connections and to teach them new things. The horses he brings with him are very well trained and they know the routines. At one particular clinic, there was a teeter-totter. He takes it upon himself to go over it a few times and then attempts to teach the other riders to be able to do it too.

Craney tells us the things that Dude (the horse) does to give us a sign that he knows something is wrong with the fence. She didn't know that the hot fence was off and saw him nudging it with his nose which made her think that he was a dumb horse. If she would have really paid attention she would've noticed that he didn't flinch anything. He was just trying to let her know that it wasn't shocking him.
