If I wasn't convinced of Tolstoys greatness before, I am now. This novel really manages to penetrate Russian society in the late 19th century.

Tolstoy has managed to make reading fiction pleasurable once more. I find the world he manages to build enthralling and the characters have a depth (except for Vronsky).
