I'm having a tough time with this one. I've read it before and enjoyed it a lot, and I have very fond memories of the rest of the trilogy. I don't know what the hang up here is. But, I desperately want to get into the Last King trilogy soon and have to reread this one first.

Picking up from where I left off in a re-read a few months ago.

Andrew Almost there. I can't recall, did you already read the newer books?

I started Last King twice and didn't finish either time, mostly because I didn't remember the original trilogy very well. Now that the second "trilogy" is nearly complete, I decided to try rereading the original and then giving the new books another try. I'd really like to read them, but I'm just not hooked on Dragonbone chair this time around. I'm hoping I'll really get into books 2 and 3 though.

Andrew Oh you're in for a treat when you get to the new books. They definitely reward having read the originals recently in the little details. But yeah you should have plenty of time to space these out for the final book next year. Don't forget Heart of What Was Lost before Witchwood Crown and do Brothers of the Wind either after Empire of Grass (when it was published) or after Narrowdark (if you don't want to break from reading about current characters and plots.)

Seth Thanks for the reading order tip. I was wondering where to stick Brothers.

Andrew Brothers is set 1,000 years before Dragonbone Chair and works on its own even without MST, but imho hits best having read at least MST and preferably after Empire or Narrowdark because despite being a prequel Williams finds ways to make it relevant to all of the future set books.
