The opening section of this novel features Babe Ruth—at a train stop on the way to Chicago—playing ball with players from the Negro Leagues. Then the novel moves to Boston and follows an Irish family deep into the Boston Police Department. Things are heating up. Set in the mid-1910s. Fantastic so far!
