Only by fidelity in little things can a true and constant love of God be distinguished from a passing fervor of spirit.  —FRANÇOIS FÉNELON

"It's a strange enigma: The goodness of God is almost universally recognized and yet rarely trusted. At an intellectual level, we know that God is good. After all, He says He is, and we have plenty of evidence that He has been good to us. At the same time, when we think about our future and the dreams we have, we suspect God might not really give them to us."

Don’t confuse pleading with God and believing God.
Both are appropriate, but only one qualifies as faith. Many have
pleaded for God to intervene but have had no confidence or even
awareness of His power and His goodness. Real faith, on the other
hand, is absolutely certain that the invisible God has a visible answer
for us. Chris Tiegreen

"Don't we often try to protect God's reputation, withholding Him from the crucial discussions of our age? In the marketplace of ideas, we are sometimes reluctant to display the emphatic, narrow claims of our faith. Are we afraid that God will fall facedown to Dagon? It will never happen. Our God will always stand." Chris Tiegreen

"The fact that Jesus once visited this planet saves us. The fact that He visits us – here and now, in our day-to-day lives – makes us godly." Chris Tiegreen

"Religions reduce God – and godliness – to a matter of the right knowledge, of individual self-improvement, or of withdrawal from a corrupt world. In every form it takes, man-made religion is a Tower of Babel – creative, innovative attempt to reach heavenward." Chris Tiegreen

"We can never write off our world as unredeemable. No matter how vile and disgraceful a person's actions, that person is never out of the reach of God. Though human husbands will only put up with so much infidelity, the divine Husband will forgive all who turn back to Him. In a world we tend to divide between 'us' and 'them,' we need to remember that 'them' always has the potential to be 'us.'" Chris Tiegreen
