He gets soaked by rain while waiting for rescue. She checks on him the next day and pulls him from bed. Valet cut his leg while cutting his boot off. He gets feverish & housekeeper sends letter to Honoria.

She wakes next to him when he is recovering and they kiss. Then she discovers he has been chasing away undesirable suitors and assumes he feels nothing, just doing his duty. The musicale is horrible, they fight, he finds her in her bedroom. Daniel returns and they fight.
