The book is fast at some points but half the time it's slow. The main characters are trying to stop a evil demigod, Luke son of Hermes who is trying to destroy a camp for demigods, Camp Half Blood. Will Percy and his friends get to the camp in time to stop Luke? If he destroys the camp there will be no safe haven for demigods in the world.
