Been at hospital all day! Not for me this time, my best friend was driving her kids to school & was hit by a drunk driver. Luckily, it was after she dropped the kids off. Sadly, she is in pretty bad shape. She just got out of spinal surgery. I'm exhausted since I've been at hospital, in waiting room, with her 2 young kids so her husband didn't have to worry about the kids. And yes, I know, WTF I feel cursed!

Galla Holy crap--when it rains, it pours. I really hope your friend is okay; that kind of situation is crazy stressful. And I hope you're still on the road to recovery, too!

Trish Sorry to hear the news about your friend.

Fani *loves angst* So sorry to hear it Michelle. I hope you'll friend will be OK in the end.

Sharon (Simi) Ehcstasy Oh Michelle. That just sucks. I am so sorry. I hope everything turns out OK.

Mary (Biblophile) Sorry to hear of this. Hope your friend will recover.

Michelle, the Bookshelf Stalker Thanks everyone! I'm finally home. I went back to the hospital at 6am this morning and just got back. She's doing great. Extremely lucky. She should be dead. Her surgery went well and though she looks horrible, she has no damage that won't heal. The grandparents, and sisters flew in, so they'll take over on babysitting.

Btw, the drunk driver suffered no injuries. 45 year old woman who drank so much through the night that she was still intoxicated when she drove at 8am in the morning.

Ok, enough depressing news from me for the rest of the year!!!!! I'm getting all out early!

Thanks Rane. I'm so tired right now, I'm too tired to sleep (I know that makes absolutely no sense).

Michelle, the Bookshelf Stalker Btw, I'd like to say WTF is up with daytime television? The steve wilkos show? How many women can not know who their baby's daddy is? And, seriously, does every commercial have to be for technical school training?

I rarely watch TV at all. I don't think I've watched daytime TV in years!

Sandra Glad your friend will recover and that you're doing OK as well.

Hope that woman gets the book thrown at her!!!!

And I agree about the daytime TV thing, even though I'm in another country, it's still pitiful here too.

D.G. OMG, Michelle!! I'm so glad your friend made it out of surgery OK! My thoughts are with her and her family.

It's amazing how all those drunk drivers seem to always come out unscathed from the accidents they cause. There should be some cosmic karma that if you hit somebody while drunk driving, you should drop dead on the spot!

message 17: by Trish (new)

Trish I agree with your opinion on drunk drivers D.G. It makes me furious to think how careless, selfish, self absorbed drunks are with the people around them. If they want to drink in excess then they need to be somewhere that those I care about are in not of danger of being hurt or killed.

Glad to hear your friend is making a recovery, Michelle.
