An excellent sourcebook on primitive cultures in Africa with many references of works written about the African continent previous to the 20th century.

Stories of Egyptian kings bringing back from the Sudan , 7000 slaves , 200,000 oxen , goats and cows... That one can only imagine the slaughter of multitudes of people.

The ghastly description of cannibalism of the tribes of the upper Nile and Congo as recently as 1908. That it was practiced by Egyptians ,Sudanese and were indulgent whenever opportunity presented itself. However, claims that the cult of Osiris curbed those tendencies, they did not stop the ritual of sacrifice of victims of battles to their gods.
