Decided to reread this book for fun. Percy is such a deep character with many in depth quotes describing how he wants to live his life. For example “If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.” (189) this shows just how independent Percy is as an individual. And how goal orientated and in charge of his life. Great characteristics of a future hero and son of a god!

Wow, out of the many quotes Rick has incorporated into his book, this one really stood out. “Knowing too much of your future is never a good thing.” (297) This quote really tells us that it's not always good to know what your future is going to be like, showing us that you should live in the now, not in the past or future. Focus on what you are currently doing and good things will come. Many deep lessons produced.
