Chapter 1:
(1) That first issue was TRASH!
- I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Just trolling to see if people actually read past the first line.
- Let me know if you spat out a drink :)
(2) First issue's quite good, not blowing my socks off or anything, but enjoyable.
(3) As predicted, Vaughan shows his penchant for slicing heads clean in two or exploding them.
- In this case both.

Chapters 4-6:
(1) Solid first volume. I'm not gaga over it or anything, but I'm looking forward to more.
(2) There's one standout issue that, if I rated this in singles, I'd give five-stars. Though, as it's a collection, I'm averaging it out to four-stars.
(3) I was already spoiled about the plot twist at the very end. Possibly, I might have enjoyed it more had I not known.

Chapters 2-3:
(1) After a cursory search, it turns out Marko's people speak Esperanto.
- More or less an alien language already.
(2) At first, I started reading this with American accents in mind. Then, suddenly, there's all these Briticisms! So I've decided everyone's British now.
(3) I enjoy that everyone has a distinct personality, regardless how much of them we've seen.

Notes:
(1) Ever since I've been active here, people have said to me: "Have you read Saga?" "You need to read Saga!" Why haven't you read Saga!?"
- Fine, I'm reading "Saga." Happy now?
(2) I hope I love this. Anything less would incur pestering from "Saga" stans who are inordinately precious about and protective of this series.
- Oh, the hostility and passive-aggressiveness!

After reading that first point I went quickly, and frantically, through the first issue, or what I can remember, to see what could have made you think so XD That was a good prank *lol*I remember being pretty confused after that first issue but it builds slowly to become something really interesting. The action, though, really good XD

Yes, felt like being a bit devious. Was trolling you as much as all the Saga lovers 😉
Also, yes, not just B.A. Baracus, but the entire A-Team :)
Adam wrote: "so many things explode in this book, head are just the beginning!"I presumed as much. Can't have a space opera without explosions. 🤯💥🤯💥🤯

Happy you got a kick out of it, Alexandra! A calculated risk, tantamount to playing with fire, given the fanbase 😅
So far, I've found that the series doesn't really hit its stride until the third issue. Which makes sense, since you want to spend some time setting the stage and getting across the concept and character. I think that's all done quite expertly. Despite having hit a stride, I do expect it to kick into a different gear once relationships and lore are more firmly established.

This world is so different that you do need to take some time to explore it before you can fully enjoy it. I think Vaughan does a great job of continuously giving us new pieces of information that enrich our understanding of the world and make us empathize more with the characters, or at the very least understand them better.

It's all a bit "something for now, something for later" in terms of exposition and plot.

I usually love this modality of telling a story because it's always so satisfying when that bit comes back and the story comes full-circle.
