Farah talks about how she was just trying to stay alive and that the doctors and hospitals were just trying to keep her alive as well for the Germans. The Germans were a group of people who would pick a limited amount of Afghanistan children to treat them and help them with their injuries. In Afghanistan they didn’t even have enough supplies to treat the kids or people. the people would have to go by the items .

Farah tells us how she was in the hospital and they had to change bandages on her shredded leg so not cause infection. However the bandages always stuck to she would bite her moms hand leaving her bruises to not shriek.Her doctor was very kind however she didn’t know if he was actually a good one because the hospital didn’t have proper equipment due to the wars and they had no money to restock medical supplies .

Farah was told to never take the shortcut but she forgot to take the precaution .She took it and blacked out seeing red fire she woke up with people staring.She hadn’t felt no pain and couldn’t hear for a while .she couldn’t see her body but her neighbor covered her body because she was missing her socks and was cold.she then got in a taxi with her mother and he mother was yelling blaming herself for incident.

Farah wakes up in a rush getting dressed for school because she was already late for her class.she was so desperate to hear her teachers stories and that precious time was out of her hand.she had to be rush and parents and adults reminded her not to take the shortcut but she forgot about this precaution she needed to take .she suddenly sees red like fire and blanked out for a second she awoke with men staring at her

In the chapter shortcut Farah tells how one morning she felt the sun in her eyes and instantly knew she was late for school due to the sun had already risen. It was always sunny in Kabul but she had always awaken before the sun was out. So she rushed out of bed to get ready and dressed in the formal uniform that all students in Kabul wore. forgetting if she had even washed her face b it she wanted to get to school .

Farah explain the bombing in her hometown and how she and he community had to get used to it and not be afraid of them. She had school for only a few hours and the stories her teacher told made her want to be in school longer.They had to get there early in order to get a seat for class since it was a limited spacing.The student would even fight for the chair just to be able to learn comfortably.Her teacher was nice

I just finished chapter 6:Going to school and Farah tells the story of when she went to school in her old home twin and how the only went up to the fifth grade . And the classes were only from 8-10am so not as long as the American students get to learn. She stated that she enjoyed school but the bombings made her stay home some days due to how close they were to the school however she was eager to learn in school .

Farah explains how she grew up and how her school experiences were . She states she doesn’t go for long hours like we do in America.but she was there for two or three hours but she enjoyed her time there .

Farah talks about her life in Kabul and everything she’s done .She explains how she didn’t know her city as well because she wasn’t ever really allowed to be outside. Only her older brother was allowed to play in the alleys or gossip with friends because one he was the oldest and two he was a boy. I relate with her because I am the oldest but my dad doesn’t really allow me to be out without someone trusted .

So far Farah is explaining the trials that her parents had to go through during and after the marriage. Her father was very successful and the village was jealous of his successes for example paying off his father debts and her father couldn’t deal with it anymore so he took his family and his parents to the city and became a successful tailor with his wife but he expected his wife to do untraditional city things.
