Thomas decided to go to the back of the forest when he saw a beetle blade just on the edge, he tried to catch it but couldn't. While he was walking along through the forest he heard a crash and Ben came out at him with a knife, He slashed at thomas but missed. Alby then came up with a bow and shot ben through the cheek, narrowly missing the brain.

When newt woke thomas up thomas told him that he wanted to be a runner. Newt told him that he couldn't just be whatever he wanted but had to work with everyone else and do what your good at. Newt said it was this way so that people wouldn't slack off and so that their community could thrive.

That night thomas goes to sleep in a large field, he thinks to himself that hey knows this place. He knew he was supposed to be a runner, he knew that he had a specific job here and he knew something important was going to happen

Thomas ran down the stairs trying to get the image of the sickly boy out of his mind. He couldn't do it and once he got down stairs Gally said "I told you, you shouldn't go up there." Minutes later Alby came down stairs and started to yell at thomas for coming upstairs even though people had told him not to. Thomas decided to stop trying to find answers to his questions and just decided to wait for night time.

A boy was laying on a bed covered in green skin and blood, Alby almost immediately stood up and shielded the boy from thomas or maybe thomas from the boy. Alby ran at Thomas and pushed him out of the room and yelled "GET OUT"

Thomas was curious and walked over to the shack to find out what was going on. He then met Gally who told him he should not go upstairs and if he did Newt and Alby would throw him off of the cliff. He went upstairs any way and right as he opened the door he saw the most gruesome sight of his life.

The crowd slowly disperses and then out of no where He hears a loud shriek of agony and pain. The two what seem like leaders run to the shack from where it had generated. Over the day their were more screams and wails. People kept saying things about 'the changing' and he was scared of what it was.

He is pulled out of the box via a long piece of rope . There are many people around him, staring as if he is a specimen from a lab. They call him things such as shank and other weird and hard to understand terms. He then starts asking questions: Where am i? Who are you? Where am i from? He is scared for his life.

Chapter 1: Thomas is in a dark black box that is steadily climbing the heights of the world. He is in there for what seems like an hour bu he is able to tell aver two hours have passed. He has no recollection of who he is, where he is from or what he is in. All he knows is his name, Thomas. He reaches the top and the box opens.
