I’m still being surprised by this series on the second go, because I only remember footprints of what happened. It still unfolds for me. I don’t remember the little details I need to cling to that are important later. That’s both frustrating and exciting. (My two personality traits.)

The climax, or exciting book-finishing events seem to be coming on early. I’m not complaining!

Though I’m enjoying this book, I’ll admit I’m not as engaged as I was while reading its predecessors. It feels to be somewhat slow, but I’m not sure if it is logically.

It seems that this book is picking up little hints of things that happened in the other two books, particularly the first one, and carrying them out, such as the new Truly Devious letter and Flora Robinson and Leonard Nair Holmes’s conversation about a secret they had. This is interesting.
