I like Dimitri. He's an engaging POV. The author is successfully conveying a sense of being stuck in fate with him, which I enjoy very much. Syd and Silvia are interesting elements.

The New Orleans scenes are a bit off. The accent, the food, the chairs in the convention center. They're...off. Didn't affect my enjoyment though.
