Suppression of natural volatility often leads to a false sense of stability. Living organisms and groups of organisms thrive on randomness and it's contribution to adaptability and natural selection. Nothing happens in a perfectly stable environment. Stressors are information. Don't be a turkey.

End of chapter 6 - In what situations is it more effective to expend resources designing an antifragile system than trying to predict future outcomes that affects the system? Random fires prune flammable matter at a frequency such that large quantities don't build up the potential for something much more destructive.
