This is such an interesting and fairly easy read! All that was going on with American Pro colonialists and the comparisons to the Spanish expulsion of 900,000 Jews is unbelievably sad. This book brings together all the forces that are still lingering today in America concerning African American civil rights.

As one African American leader said, the offscourings of Europe were more acceptable than a free African American. I didn’t know how white Americans not only did not want black Americans to integrate into society, but wanted them shipped to a now foreign country. This included abolitionists! No wonder it is taking so long for true integration!

As far as “animalization” no one should treat an animal, human, or any other sentient being or life form the way plantation owners treated slaves and the way they described treating their animals. This is the most despicable human behavior, comparable only to the Nazis. It’s time animals, not only humans, are treated with the care and respect they deserve as beings on this earth.
