Notes:
(1) This must have been shortly after Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman.
- It's the first time I've read it mentioned that she has an accent.
- Tony Daniel has even changed the way he draws Wonder Woman to resemble her, albeit still in his distinctive style.
(2) Predictably, the further into this crossover the less sense it made. The last issue was decent, at least.

Notes:
(1) Last volume was great, and I was really looking forward to this one. But then I realized it's comprised of "Superman: Doomed" issues. Ugh!
- There's zero point in reading the bulk of this, it's only 6/21, non-consecutive, parts of a crossover I'll have to read again anyway.
- The rest are two "Futures End" tie-ins and an Annual. At least the Annual might be good.

I haven’t read much Wonder Woman (mainly John Byrne’s run) but I’ve always assumed she’d have an accent. She’s from a Greek island after all.

She's from a Greek island that has been cut off from contact with most of humanity for several centuries...not only would their Greek be archaic but their English would be non-existent.

I can't read Wonder Woman now without having her speak with some sort of Mediterranean lilt. Though, I think for the most part, she's just assumed to have an American accent, possibly assuming it from her adopted homeland. Every adaptation prior to the recent films, from Lynda Carter to Superfriends to the Justice League animated series to DC animated features, have had her with an American accent.

It's only been a few hundred years and they have a whole different accent, dialect and vocabulary, and they've had the benefit of continual contact with Britain. Imagine close to a thousand years or more of isolation. Even in continental Europe, Latin evolved into Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, Romanian, etc., and those accents sound totally distinct.
@Jay the fact that every previous portrayal of Wonder Woman had an American accent could just be due to Hollywood having a serious habit of giving characters American accents even if they’re from other countries. I notice it a lot in animation especially. But even from live action DC, judging by the concept trailer that was released for the Black Adam movie, Black Adam will be portrayed as having an American accent despite the fact that he’s literally an Arab from a Middle Eastern country (Khandaq is a fictional country but still a Middle Eastern one). It seriously irritates me like 1. The lack of representation🤦🏻♀️ and 2. I wonder if Hollywood execs think that American people wouldn’t be able to understand other accents or would be automatically biased against accented characters. After all, it’s usually bad guys in films who have foreign accents because the Americans always have to be the heroes. At least that’s what I’ve noticed.

The location was supposed to be a mystery. It wasn't actually called Themyscira until George Perez retconned the name during his run in the 1980s. Prior to that, the TV show said it was in the Bermuda Triangle, and the comics implied it was in the Pacific Ocean (it has kangaroos, for example). It wasn't until some DC animated feature around a decade ago that it was retconned to be near Greece. So, she could pretty much have any accent. An American accent is about as plausible as the next.
So far as Black Adam goes, I'm dead certain that there wouldn't even be a Black Adam movie if Dwayne Johnson didn't play him. The whole movie was actually his idea. I think they asked him what superhero he wanted to play and he chose Black Adam. So, you can't have any other actor, because with any other actor the movie wouldn't get off the ground. So, you have two choices with Johnson, you can have him try to fake a Middle Eastern accent and risk it being bad and offensive, or you can play it safe and just have him do an American accent. I don't blame them for choosing the latter.

oh so what do i say to greet people
Wolf (Alpha) wrote: "can you be my friend"I could, but you'd have to promise not to use my comments for off-topic chitchat.

You send them a direct message or write them a comment at the bottom of their profile page.
ok i will send you a messege ok
Wolf (Alpha) wrote: "hello anybody there"This is unacceptable. Also, I've head your comment history, and you're obviously a troll. Unfortunately, I will have to block you now.
@Jay I think the Rock is such a great casting choice for Black Adam and because I loved the Shazam movie I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do with Black Adam in his movie and future ones. Just sad about the accent I guess. But you’re right about the choices they made regarding that. Also, interesting to learn that about Wonder Woman’s origin! I’ve never watched her movies or read her comics so I know very little about her.
Wow I can’t believe that spammer bot-like person followed me here. That’s crazy! I didn’t have notifications turned on for this comment section otherwise I would’ve come to head them off ages ago. They keep commenting on one of my reviews after they insulted me, then friend requested me, then changed their username to impersonate a friend who stuck up for me... it’s borderline insanity. Wait, so if I block someone they can’t comment on my reviews?
Kadi wrote: "Also, interesting to learn that about Wonder Woman’s origin! Kadi wrote: "Wow I can’t believe that spammer bot-like person followed me here. That’s crazy! It's the main reason why I blocked them.
Blocking people will make it look as though your profile is private, without the ability to message as well. Additionally, they're unable to even see your reviews, let alone comment on them.
♬SAM♬ wrote: "@Kadi Yes, technically thats what happens when u block a person.."Yup, and you can tell if you've been blocked if you try to send a message and it says "Sorry, this person isn't accepting messages" or if you try to friend request them and it says "Sorry, this person isn't accepting friends." They're actually are, but just not accepting them from you lol.
