well that ending was a bit pell-mell messy

well, I was full steam head . . . until the weekend hit and I forgot about this until back at work haha

this is so good it made me break my current streak of read at work, binge Netflix at home by instead continuing to read this after work because YES IT'S THAT GOOD

this is such a fun scene and I know, if this is to follow the tropes, all masquerade balls have spiciness to them

"Like I'm something you want to spend a long time devouring."

ahhhhh this is book is giving me EVERYTHING I love in fantasies—political tangles and plotting, angst, SO MUCH UST, and a wonderfully-revealed, sprawling and diverse world

there's a constant flow of information given at any time BUT the way it's given doesn't really feel like dumping or a glut which is a special, certain type of talent I applaud and admire and can only hope that one day I can write in a similar way

well I'm utterly hooked
