That made me so sad. It was responsible of him, but she obviously hadn't considered the aspects of this "fling."
Yeah. Partially, I am sure, because he hasn't really given anyone any suggestion that he is not healthy. That action right there, that you are quoting, was really the biggest hint Bella has had that there is something seriously wrong.
Well, he made it very clear that it would be a temporary fling. It was flatly stated in the original invitation she asked him to tender. I just don't think she realized that it wouldn't really align exactly with her storybook fantasy. It was a very sad moment for her.I agree that he should have made some indication of something being wrong with him before now. I don't know why it's a secret, so it's kind of frustrating. I'm also nervous about how he'll overcome whatever to have a good future with her. :S Answers needed here!
Oh, I just meant that it was the first big indication she has had that he might have something wrong with him health-wise. She is, of course, taking it as not being (as you said) her storybook fantasy. And I agree with you: from what he said, she should have expected something like this (maybe a French letter), because it is clear he wasn't looking for anything long-term, and he's far too honorable to not handle a baby properly. He would have taken SOME precautions.
