this book is so bad . god bles

the thing about the epilogue is that it is such a good tragedy but i don't think tolstoy meant it as a tragedy at ALL. i don't have faith in him

the #1 problem with this book is that after the great comet section (which is overwhelmingly the best section) the proportion of historical commentary to plot starts to skew increasingly toward historical commentary until by the it's, like, a 70/30 split which is just absolutely fucking unbearable because this man cannot stop repeating himself. the #2 problem is the misogyny
