This is a dense read, characterized more by middle 20th-century French intellectualism than by what most might consider the "usual" character of Zen literature. Sometimes I feel like I get some (somewhat vague) insight from reading between these lines. I don't not-recommend it, but I don't think I would freely suggest it to anyone interested in the crossroads between western psychology and Zen philosophy.

I'm abandoning this book. The author is discussing concepts like "enlightenment" and "truth" in loaded, concrete terms, and I think Zen and Buddhism are too new to me for me to expose myself with this material without considerable confusion. Another day, maybe...
