In this book, Alix, the mother of the child Emira babysits moves to Philadelphia. Here she feels that she doesn't fit in, since she moved from New York. She meets her husband's coworkers at briar's, her daughter, birthday party. She doesn't like that they dress up with full faces of makeup and big jewelry. I think that is wrong of her to judge them because they like some things that she doesn't.

So far, Emira has already run into some trouble. Emira is a babysitter and she was wrongfully accused of kidnapping. A man catches the accuser and the victim on film and after the whole incident, he asks if Emira would like the video. Emira declines, but the man insists she should have it just in case. Emira wanted the video gone so she asked the man to delete the video. I feel that the man sent to other people.
