"they had a choice, all of them. they could have followed in the footsteps of good men like my father" this sentence gives me a lot of idea of whats going to happen next and it tells me that the main character's father is a good man.

“Stood in firelight, sweltering. Bloodstain on chest like map of violent new continent. Felt cleansed. Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in night. i like this quote because it describe the situation that the character is in really well for example the character felt the dark planet turn under his feet.
