there's really nothing like the fourth book of the aeneid to make me want to walk into the ocean

book twelve // "why has mortality been taken from me?"

if i devote too much thought to the end of the aeneid i think i will have to start hitting my head against the wall until i die like a tarsier

book eleven // virgil canceled for burying the girlboss

book ten // pallas has young siward syndrome 😔

book nine // virgil canceled for burying the gays

book eight // thinking about how aeneas is so clearly being made into achilles in this book. and turnus is so very hector. but at the same time turnus is achilles (rage) and aeneas is hector (duty) and everyone is everyone and everything hurts.

book seven // i can love aeneas and turnus at the same time. it’s called having good taste and being right. why are we pitting two bad bitches against each other, juno

anyway of all the things to carry over from homer… we did not need the catalogue of forces 💔

book six // "the poor souls, how can they crave our daylight so?"

this is the second-best book of the aeneid and i hope augustus gave virgil the sloppy toppy for it
