it’s impressive to be able to write a metaphor about mental illness without being gruelingly heavy-handed but this book imo really nails it. and also it hits different reading this as an adult. like oh yeah. there is no bottom and the treasure’s all fake and i had to figure that out before i was old enough to vote

caden’s hallucination-embodiment-of-psychosis lowkey coming up with ahab x captain nemo fanfiction. if that sentence didn’t make sense that’s how it feels to read it also. this book is awesome
