I've always been a fan if Amy Tan, and the first 20 pages or so were great, but then I just couldn't get through anymore of it. Bibi Chen is a fascinating character, but her hoity toity friends are a pain to read about. It was a never-ending narration of their pretentious lives and u couldn't take another page of it! All I wanted to read about was Bibi!
