Although this a man-sea-book, it is less of a man-sea-book than I thought. In a good way. Still lots of men and seas though. Which is also good.

It's such a good, fast-paced mystery with great characters and tension and all the elements I love in a historical sea-faring novel, but there are some tropes I'm not enjoying.
