Having spent half a day in Gemäldegalerie Berlin, I could hardly refrain from buying the full catalogue of this magnificent gallery. Taking into account it’s size, cost and weight (!), I went for this low budget subset. Still the illustrations are excellent.

The paintings selected for this catalogue are not the highlights presented on the webpage of the galery. But each of them has a story to tell and that makes them special. I cannot wait to go to Berlin again an resee them - now with more informed eyes.
