I'm going to just come back to this and read something else in the meantime.

Reading reviews for this book and its sequels, and I'm relieved to find I'm not the only who struggled to connect with Georgia.

This problem has a slight problem that I've recognized in other fiction: there are swathes of it that feel like an extended summary. Time is passing, but it feels like we're not actually experiencing that, merely jumping from one point to another.

I respect the density of this text. I really love that I have to slow down and read it to keep things in my head. That's not something I usually have to do; I'm a quick reader and my analytical thinking is fairly decent, so understanding comes quickly for me. This book definitely requires me to slow down. Much respect.

I can say with absolute honesty that I admire the world-building in this book, oh my god, Georgia like an encyclopaedia and not a terribly interesting one.

" I spend my time writing, thinking about writing, and trying to come up with new things I can write about." GPOY much?
Anyway, sorry for the lag in reading updates. This book really hasn't grabbed me, but I'm trying to keep going.
