(1) "[Harry looked] into [Mrs. Weasley's] eyes, noticing as he did so that they were precisely the same shade of brown as Ginny’s."
- Focus, Harry! She's not Ginny!
(2) Ron's addicted to hugs now... well, hugging Hermione.
(3) "Gabrielle ... threw Harry a glowing look, batting her eyelashes. Ginny cleared her throat loudly."
- That's right, girl. Mark your territory.

(1) My audiobook re-read of "Harry Potter" is nearly at an end. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great discussion and enthusiasm. It was like having one big buddy-read with hundreds, even thousands, of people. I know many of you friended and followed me because of my "Harry Potter" updates, and I hope you decide to stick around for what comes next :)

Notes:
(1) Voldemort: "Pick up your little friend, Hagrid. And the glasses — put on the glasses — he must be recognizable —"
- Of course, the glasses... otherwise he'd be totally unrecognizable... a regular Clark Kent.
(2) Molly: "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH! ... OUT OF MY WAY! ... Get back! Get back! She is mine!"
- Well, at least we know where Ron gets his foul mouth from.

(1) '"Explain," said Harry.
"But you already know," said Dumbledore. He twiddled his thumbs.'
- Always the teacher, Dumbledore. Makes you sound it out.
(2) Dumbledore: "Your wand imbibed some of the power and qualities of Voldemort’s wand ... and it regurgitated some of his own magic against him."
- Yuck! Voldemort magic apparently doesn't sit well in a wand's belly.

Notes:
(1) "He felt his heart pounding fiercely in his chest. How strange that in his dread of death, it pumped all the harder, valiantly keeping him alive."
- I don't find it strange at all. Harry's dreading death, after all.
(2) "He saw the mouth move and a flash of green light, and everything was gone."
- Huh, I thought Voldemort was more proficient in non-verbal spells.

(1) "[Harry] heard Snape shout at [Lily] in his humiliation and his fury, the unforgivable word: "Mudblood."
(2) Lily: "You call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?"
(3) Phineas Nigellus: "They are camping in the Forest of Dean! The Mudblood —"
Snape: "Do not use that word!"
- That, boys and girls, is what we call a "character arc."

Notes:
(1) "A lone clog, the size of a small boat, lay abandoned in front of them. There was no other sign of Grawp or of his attacker."
- Huh, didn't know Grawp was Dutch, wooden shoes and all.
- Kidding. Hagrid found him east of Minsk so he's likely Russian.
(2) Snape: "You’re a witch."
Lily: "That’s not a very nice thing to say to somebody!"
- I mean, what do you expect?

Notes:
(1) Goyle: "You was looking for a die-dum! What’s a die-dum?"
- I bet Goyle will die dumb.
(2) Ron: "If we die for them, I’ll kill you, Harry!"
- Can the dead be killed?
(3) Hermione: "Are you a wizard, or what?"
Ron: "Oh — right — yeah — Wingardium Leviosa!"
- Nice callback to the first book, where the roles were reversed. Also, to the first spell they ever learned.

Notes:
(1) "Running at Ron, [Hermione] flung [her arms] around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron ... responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet."
- Huh, it's a lot more aggressive in the book.
(2) Harry: "D'you think you could just — just hold it in until we’ve got the diadem?"
Ron: "Yeah — right — sorry."
- I bet he's not really sorry.

(1) '"Our headmaster is taking a short break," said Professor McGonagall, pointing at the Snape-shaped hole in the window.'
- So much sass.
(2) I find it hard to believe that Dumbledore never knew about the Room of Requirement.
(3) '"It was Ron, all Ron’s idea!” said Hermione breathlessly. "Wasn’t it absolutely brilliant?"'
- Ron being brilliant makes Hermione swoon.

Notes:
(1) Harry uses the Cruciatus Curse and McGonagall uses the Imperius Curse. Sure, rules get thrown out when it comes to war, but do the ends justify the means?
(2) In the film McGonagall duels Snape one-on-one until he flees. In the book, it's Flitwick that runs Snape off.
(3) 'Professor McGonagall dryly, "we teachers are rather good at magic, you know."'
- Ha! Sassy.

Amanda (Artist Cat) wrote: "Mark your territory... Haha, that's funny xD"Ginny's come a long way in finding her self-confidence :)
Ginny going from "Oh..I am awkward around harry" to "Back off..He is MINE!!" was the best transformation ever😂
Mrinmayi wrote: "Ginny going from "Oh..I am awkward around harry" to "Back off..He is MINE!!" was the best transformation ever😂"I agree. Ginny arguably had the most character development through the whole series. Her attitude toward Harry's emblematic of that rise in assertiveness :)
Book Ginny's transformation is such a fav of mine, sadly the films had to make so many cuts to the supporting characters. Especially, G, Neville & Luna 🤗
Aoife - Bookish_Babbling wrote: "Book Ginny's transformation is such a fav of mine, sadly the films had to make so many cuts to the supporting characters. You just can't juggle that many characters and flesh each of them out adequately in films, there's only so much oxygen and not enough room to breathe.
Maitrey wrote: "Seriously I loved the part where Ron bangs the door 🚪 on Harry and Ginny 😆😆🤣🤣🤣😜"I don't know if I've reached that part yet. Perhaps next chapter :)
Maitrey wrote: "No that part is in Harry's birthday Anyways it is brilliant got me roaring with laughter 😜🤣"
Okay, so I've not got to it yet. Something to look forward to :)
Welp, Harry noticing Mrs. Weasley's eyes is not creepy at all XDAll the love in the air *twirls fingers* This is one of my favorite couples actually -Bill and Fleur.

I love Rowling's small, uncomfortable moments 😁
I like Bill and Fleur a lot too. I also love how Molly and Fleur were at odds all last book but now they're besties... there's still Ginny to win over though :)
Maitrey wrote: "Oh"I've got three wedding gifs lined up. Can't use them all for the one wedding chapter. Plus some chapters aren't in the film, so have to spread them out :)
Sakshi wrote: "Ginny does the same thing when Cho asks to lead to Harry to the Ravenclaw common room"Something else to look forward to, then :)
Yes the last 3 books in the series are rather romantic, including too many snogging scenes. Best one was Ron and Lavender's🤣
Tahera wrote: "Things are falling into place nicely... atleast in the romance front 😂."Yes, after everything got so muddled the last few books, it's all finally sorting itself out :)

One can only hope, I think GoT and all series since have paved the way for shows over films for fantasy book series 🤞
Aoife - Bookish_Babbling wrote: "One can only hope, I think GoT and all series since have paved the way for shows over films for fantasy book series 🤞"Especially since fewer people are actually going to theaters and more people are staying at home to stream, it's more accepted than ever for big budget adaptations to make their way to TV as a first choice.
Plus as you rightly pointed out earlier, they have so much more scope to flesh everything out for TV!
