My roommate was in a feminist progressive version of this show actually.

How did they solve the problem of the last scene? I’m playing Kate in a Zoom reading of the play and we’re trying to “fix it” but it’s hard to do without deviating from the text or totally sidestepping the misogyny issue.
I'm the roommate! We ended up giving the last lines to Kate, and her speech was given time to land and really show how bitter and fake it was. The whole show became about a group of people using a woman for their own ends and, in the very ending, realizing it, and then she leaves them all.
I feel like 10 Things I Hate About You may be as close as we could get
