trying this audiobook again after stalling out the first time

why are these books always about like cocky 22 year olds and never middle aged men with a lot of trauma

ok this slaps so far

roughly 3/4 of the way through this book, my biggest reaction so far is just "what is the point of this?"--i don't think it's nearly as bad as the numerous thinkpieces made it out to be where queer stuff is concerned, but having loved yanagihara's first two books i'm solidly meh on this one.

I am absolutely in love with this book.

I've been slogging through this book for over a month and I'm still only halfway done with it. I want so badly to like it, but I just...don't. Can someone give me permission to DNF even though I'm over 50% done? There are so many other books I want to read!

Desperately want to DNF this, but I'm too close to finishing now. Ugh. These essays are sooooo dated and embarrassing and faux-edgy.
