Notes:
(1) Ron makes the Quidditch team by process of elimination. Two people fared better at keeper tryouts, but Angelina found one whiny and the other unreliable. Thank goodness for that!
(2) "[Harry] walked on, feeling quietly elated ... [Cho] did not hate him for being alive!"
- Well, that's an awfully low bar. I'm fairly sure most people don't hate him for being alive.

(1) Well, I'm nearly finished with this. Now I've got to hunker down and write my review. I simultaneously hate writing reviews but love finishing reviews. It's like exercise, and Harry Potter reviews are especially stressful and demanding on account of the extra attention.
(2) Feel free to use my gifs. They're on my Imgur at: https://imgur.com/user/jaysongo/posts.

(1) "Cornelius, I am ready to fight your men — and win again!"
- Dumbledore giving orders to Fudge while still an enemy of the state is one of the series most boss moments.
(2) Phineas Nigellus: "You see, Dumbledore? ... Never try to understand the students. They hate it. They would much rather be tragically misunderstood..."
- A bit cynical, but he's not incorrect.

(1) Neville: "A brain attacked Ron but I think he’s all right — and Hermione’s unconscious, but we could feel a pulse —"
- You'd think all the time fighting with Hermione would have better prepared Ron to fight another brain.
(2) Voldemort calls Bellatrix "Bella"... wonder if he's a "Twilight" fan?
(3) It's easy to forget that people still think Sirius is a murderer.

(1) "[Harry] just wanted to get them all out of this alive, make sure that none of his friends paid a terrible price for his stupidity."
- That's certainly a good reason.
(2) Harry: "How come Voldemort wants it?"
Bellatrix: "You dare speak his name?"
Harry: "Yeah."
- Good answer, Harry. Very forthright.
(3) Ron: "Accio brain!"
- C'mon, Ron, you've already got brains.

Notes:
(1) Hermione treats Luna like McGonagall treats Trelawney. With open disdain at the mere mention of absurdities, but with affection and friendship when faced against a common enemy.
(2) Harry, Luna and Neville being the only ones who can hear voices behind the veiled archway should have been a light bulb moment, since they're also the only ones who can see thestrals.

Notes:
(1) Ron: "What’ve you done with Umbridge?"
Harry: "She got carried away."
- Very James Bond of him.
- Even in life-threatening situations there's always time for jokes.
(2) Harry: "Ron’s the only one with a broomstick that isn’t being guarded by
a security troll, so —"
Ginny: "I’ve got a broom!"
- Ginny being invisible to Harry again. He'll change his tune next book.

Notes:
(1) '"What did you call us?" shouted a wild-looking black centaur, whom Harry recognized as Bane.'
- Bane? I bet he was born in the darkness.
- In my head he's voiced by Tom Hardy.
(2) "Real tears [slid] down [Hermione's] face now. “We haven’t done anything to hurt you ... we just want to go back to school.”
- Of course she wants to go back to school, she's Hermione.

Notes:
(1) Umbridge: "They were all bleating about silencing you ... but I was the one who actually did something about it ... Only you wriggled out of that one, didn’t you, Potter?"
- How very "If it wasn't for you meddling kids..."
(2) "Though Hermione was sobbing desperately into her hands, there was no trace of a tear."
- Great! Cries all the time, but now she's unable!

(1) "The confederation had met for the first time in France ... Goblins had tried to attend and been ousted ... And nobody from Liechtenstein had wanted to come."
- Typical Liechtenstein, always going their own way.
(2) Hermione: "This isn’t a criticism, Harry! But ... don’t you think you’ve got a bit of a—a—saving-people-thing?"
- Well, not the worst complex to have.

Notes:
(1) Hermione loves elves but hates giants... a bit hypocritical if you ask me. Also ironic since nearly every elf hates her, but Grawp adores her.
(2) 'Harry raised his wand, looked directly at Umbridge, and imagined her being sacked.
"Expecto Patronum!"'
- Sure, that's a happy thought... though, if it were me, I'd add some sort of humiliation to make it extra happy.

Snape’s face is totally deadpan and it’s hilarious. No one can make that face as well as Alan Rickman, RIP. Ugh, Cho, I wish we Asians had better representation in the series. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😆
Shannara wrote: "Snape’s face is totally deadpan and it’s hilarious. No one can make that face as well as Alan Rickman, RIP."Yes, in terms of deadpan facials, he's in a league of his own.

Cho is a disappointing character in so many ways.
Well... Voldemort definitely does hate him for being alive...
AspiringAuthor wrote: "Well... Voldemort definitely does hate him for being alive..."Absolutely, but then Voldemort's an outlier, and definitely isn't "most people"... if he is indeed still a person.
human wrote: "And here I was, fairly certain that people liked him solely because he's alive..."People who don’t know him, I’m sure. He is “The boy who lived.” Being alive is the main reason he’s famous, at least to start :)
I read upto 'the prisoner of Azkaban' and then stopped there because after that the series keeps getting darker and I didn't find it a good idea to read such stuff during these stressful times, but here your reviews are making it lighter and I think I might go back to reading Harry Potter.
Daniel wrote: "One of the best scenes. Long live Snape!"Yes, aside from having the best scenes, I think he's possibly the most interesting character in the whole series :)
Bhumika wrote: "I read upto 'the prisoner of Azkaban' and then stopped there because after that the series keeps getting darker and I didn't find it a good idea to read such stuff during these stressful times, but..."I'm happy to hear that, Bhumika! Glad my reviews are helping you out. Though, I will say, things do get very dark indeed at the end of the fourth book and the remaining books stay that way. So, be prepared for that if you do decide to go back to reading the series :)
About the "doesn't hate him for being alive" part, may I introduce you to a one Lord Voldemort and a dear Severus Snape?
TheOtakuStory wrote: "About the "doesn't hate him for being alive" part, may I introduce you to a one Lord Voldemort and a dear Severus Snape?"Well, "most people" isn't an absolute, it's 50% plus 1. That leaves a lot of room for outliers to hate him for that. Also, I don't think Snape hates him for being alive. I think Snape hates him for looking and acting like James.
