This book is gradually building in violence and darkness and I hate it but somehow still love it?? The writing style is bugging me less and less as the story gets more and more serious. This book has a pretty slow start, but now we're in the good dark stuff and I'm really enjoying it :)

I can't decide if the beginning of this book is rushed, or if I'm just used to Sanderson's slow starts. Either way, though, while the world doesn't feel as rich as a lot of epic fantasies I've read, I am really strongly connecting to Rin as a protagonist. She's so much fun to read.
