A connection I have made is between the book and the world. The connection is bullying. Everyday we see harsh bullying whether it is in real life or online. In this case Auggie was born with a clef pállate and other deformities. He got out of homeschooling and went to a public school and everyone would stare and run away. Then there was the bullying.

The main characters are august Pullman and his family. The story is about a boy who was born different from others on the outside that wanted to be treated like a normal kid. The book is set in Manhattan, New York. The book is full of events from the beginning to the end. The inciting incident is August going to school. I am pretty sure the book is told as a chronological narrative.
