mmmmmmmmmmmmmm i love this book but this part in the last chapter where maria thinks "maybe this isn't up to the spirits, maybe it's up to me, maybe i can go back with mateo and tell everyone what i did and own up to it all and help justice be served" is so interesting like. villains... who... have... to... face... consequences... grabby hands. give me the forbidden alternate ending
