(1) Tim Seeley writing "Suicide Squad" may not be the best fit. He's trying too hard to be irreverent. So we get things like incontinence jokes.
(2) As a Canadian. I appreciate the Tim Horton's analogue.
(3) I've always enjoyed Juan Ferreyra's cover work. Reminds me of Joe Chiodo, with its very painted style. Jury's still out on interiors.

Film Review:
(B) 73% | More than Satisfactory
Notes:
(1) Since the film was based on this New 52 version of the Suicide Squad, and this book in particular led into the film, I thought it might be a nice idea to watch and review the film. If people like this sort of thing, I might do more of it.

(1) As much as I enjoy Juan Ferreyra's art, page layouts aren't his strong-suit.
(2) Apparently Deadshot and Captain Boomerang are hated rivals. When did that happen? I never got that sense from any of the previous books. Suddenly they're all Potter and Malfoy with each other.
(3) Seeley's take on Harley seems really self-aware and quirky.

(1) Nearly every "Suicide Squad" plot is the same: something goes wrong on a mission and they have to fight their way out against overwhelming odds. This book acknowledges that and puts a bit of a "Hunger Games" twist on it. I'm digging it.

(1) At this point, I don't care about the series at all beyond finishing it.
(2) El Diablo's back for this volume. Probably because the movie was coming out at the time and they wanted as close a match to the movie team as possible.
(3) I'll watch the movie after I'm done this. I wonder what influence the books had, if any, and vice versa.
