When a sign in the crank town says "Thomas is the real leader" propels action throughout the book because everyone thinks that he is special and if they capture him they will be saved from this deadly disease called the flare. Also he tries to make sure his group doesn't see the sign because he does not want to be the leader of the group since his friend is the leader.

In my book Thomas is now isolated with this crank (which is a person that has been infected with the flare).The rest of Thomas’s group was lost during the earthquake. Thomas finds out that he is supposed to be the actual leader of the group. He is now being forced to go to a party with a bunch of cranks by gunpoint.

The point of view of the book changes from 3 person to 1 person. It helps to gain understanding of the text because when the book is in 1 person the character tells you how they feel and what they are thinking and in 3 person the narrator tells what the characters in the book are doing. The book would be different if the point of view is different because if there was no 1 person you wouldn't know their thoughts.

The plot in the book I am reading is different than books I have read in the past because this book is about finding a way out of the WICKED program which is supposedly supposed to help them survive the real world. In past books I have read they were mostly about crimes and leaving suspense as to the answer to who did the crime.
