I will remember the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman(Turkish) government and ask Turkey to admit and compensate and return the land to its rightful owners.

I heard that they declared today as a celebration of children, or something like that, in an attempt to disregard what today stands for, and further deny the genocide.

I heard something of that sort from a Facebook friend, but for April 23. Is it Turkey who declared it or Lebanon, btw?
No, Turkey, of course. My instructor told me about it, that they're turning it into a time for celebration.
Turkey has tried to deny and is still trying to deny the genocide that it executed on the Armenians. They don't even teach in schools, to their children about the genocide and that there were Armenians living in Eastern Turkey (Western Armenia), whose lands belong to the Armenians. But there are a few (and are becoming more than a few) who are reading historical books written by objective authors, and are admitting the facts.
Yes, it is very unfortunate. When a Turk vaguely mention the genocide, they are persecuted. There's an author, Elif Shafak, who briefly talked about the genocide in one of her books, and she was persecuted in Turkey: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/10/boo...
