I'm not sure about this one. I was hoping for sparks and 50 pages in they haven't even met! Also, I kind of hate the narrator. As anyone who has ever actually met a pastor's daughter can attest, the wide-eyed innocent thing is absolute hogwash.

I'm making progress here. But, just for the record, I don't like the way the author copies the structure of ACD's narrative. Irene and doesn't have to be just like Holmes in order to be better than him!
